Our surgical team will recommend the right treatment

Sometimes laser surgery isn’t the right option. If you need a different solution, such as a Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), an Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) or other intraocular lens, or cataract removal, your surgeon will recommend and explain the aims, outcomes and details of the procedure .

Personalised Care, Tailored Vision Solutions

Most of our implant and cataract removal procedures involve a lensectomy – removal of the dysfunctional lens on your eye, and replacement with a new lens designed to correct or improve your vision. When we remove cataracts, we replace the cloudy lens with a new intraocular lens (IOL). If the right choice for you is a Phakic IOL, we do not remove any part of the cornea, but make a small incision in which to insert the lens.

Procedure Time

Depending on the procedure you may have the procedure completed on both eyes at once, or we may do them separately with a wait of a couple of weeks. Regardless, you’ll be in and out of the clinic within two hours, including preparation and post-care.

Typical Results

Most patients experience noticeable vision improvement within 24 hours of their procedure. While individual results vary, the majority achieve 20/20 vision or better, reducing or eliminating their dependence on glasses and contacts. Your personalised treatment plan ensures the best possible outcome.

Recovery Time

Recovery is generally quick, with most patients returning to their normal activities within 24 to 48 hours. You may experience some dryness, a gritty feeling or some sensitivity to light, which can cause watery eyes. These symptoms usually subside within a few days as your eyes heal naturally, but you can take paracetamol to help.
