Dr John Hogden is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in refractive, corneal, and anterior segment surgery. Based at LASERSIGHT Brisbane, he is dedicated to helping patients achieve freedom from glasses and contacts through advanced laser and lens-based vision correction procedures. Dr Hogden’s expertise spans a wide range of vision correction procedures, including corneal and lens-based refractive surgery, lamellar corneal transplant surgery (DMEK, DSAEK, DALK), and the management of irregular astigmatism and keratoconus. Actively involved in clinical research, Dr Hogden has contributed to several international publications and continues to advance the field of refractive surgery. A member of RANZCO, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, he brings a wealth of experience and a global perspective to his practice.

Dr Hogden earned his medical degree from the University of New South Wales and completed his specialist ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, where he was awarded the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital Travelling Scholarship and RANZCO Topham Scholarship. He further honed his surgical expertise through advanced subspecialty training at the University of British Columbia Vancouver Eye Care Centre, a globally recognised institution for ophthalmic surgery.
