Post Op Care

What happens after your procedure?

What happens after your procedure?
Immediately following your procedure or surgery, we’ll care for you in our specially darkened recovery space. If required we’ll apply eye drops and other medications. If you have ‘bandage contact lenses’ in place, we’ll ensure they’re comfortable. After an hour or so for the effects of the anaesthetic to wear off and to ensure you’re okay, you’ll be ready to be picked up.

When you go home.

The best thing you can do when you get home is sleep for around four hours. You may find that your eyes are watery, you might feel a gritty sensation when you blink, and in some cases there may be mild pain. If that happens, panadol will help deal with the discomfort.

You’ll see us on day one.

The day after your procedure, return to the clinic for a comprehensive post-operative check. We’ll see how your vision has improved, how your eyes are healing, and how you’re feeling.
