Biography

Dr Marc Wei is a highly regarded specialist in LASIK and cataract surgery, bringing over two decades of expertise to LASERSIGHT. Since joining the team in 2000, Dr Wei has performed over 15,000 vision correction procedures, including Advanced PRK, LASIK, ICL, and lens surgeries such as multifocal IOL. His commitment to excellence, coupled with his patient-focused approach, ensures every individual receives tailored care and outstanding outcomes.

Dr Wei is a principal surgeon at LASERSIGHT, combining vast surgical expertise with a passion for innovation. A member of leading global ophthalmology organisations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, he frequently presents at international conferences and contributes to ongoing research. Dedicated to giving back, Dr Wei also volunteers annually in Myanmar and serves as a lecturer at Bond and Griffith universities.

Education & Institute

Dr Wei graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1989 and completed specialist training in ophthalmology at Royal Brisbane, Princess Alexandra, and Mater Hospitals in Brisbane. Following his Fellowship of Ophthalmology in 1998, he pursued advanced subspecialty training in glaucoma, cataract, and pediatric ophthalmology at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and Kings College Hospital in London, UK.
